Whether it’s looking down at a cell phone, tablet, video game, or desk, bad posture is a very common problem nowadays.
Constant rounding of the shoulders and neck flexion leads to tight chest muscles and weak muscles in the back and in between the shoulder blades.
If this is not taken care of, over time it can lead to a hunchback appearance and a lot of neck pain, headaches, upper back tension, and mid back pain.
In this video I show you 2 exercises to strengthen the muscle that stabilizes your shoulder blades to help you bring your shoulders back and fix poor posture.
The muscle we will focus on is the trapezius, more specifically the middle and lower trapezius which is responsible for bringing the shoulder blades towards each other and down.
In order for these exercises to be effective and work you must first squeeze your shoulder blades together, then perform the exercises, and hold the contraction for 5 seconds. Repeat each exercise 15 – 20 times, every other day.
